Thirty-one points of articulation sounds like a lot until you see each one notated.
I’ve been releasing a series of videos about the BST AXN Arcade TMNT action figures as a part of my partnership with Ram Fam Collectibles and got a comment about their claim about the 31 points of articulation, which resulted in my counting the number of points of articulation multiple times while the figure was in my hands.

Counting individual points of articulation between arms and legs and including two points of articulation inside of the shell doesn’t lead to an easy count, hence the diagram.
I was surprised that even the XL Android Body Krang figure has 31 points of articulation, but the articulation is in different spots, including the opening hinge for the removal of Krang from the android body.
I’ll admit that I wasn’t able to name all of the joint styles off the top of may head, I don’t know when the butterfly joint became popular to use in action figures, but I couldn’t have named it without some research. I’d actually love to see a history of the action figure joint styles and when they were first used, because things like crunch and butterfly joints must have a history, right?
